Pankaja Sethi is a textile artist and researcher based in Bhubaneswar. Her woven experiments started with reinterpreting traditional forms into contemporary woven textiles.Pankaja’s experimentation on running unstitched fabric with diverse vocabularies and fluid drapes across rural and semi-urban spaces of India is creating a space for the new audience that is interested in nuances of lost tradition and participate in creating transition adapted from Indian traditions.
She studied Textile Designing from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi and MA in Social Anthropology from School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Honours Ministry of Culture fellowship under CCRT, New Delhi on visual Arts- Textiles (2018-20). Showcased her organic cotton natural dyed Sarees in rural adivasi silhouettes of Odisha at‘Lakme Fashion Week’, Mumbai, Feb-2018.
