Veejayant Kumar Dash

Veejayant Kumar Dash, Born -1977, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Bachelor of Fine Arts from B.K.College of Art & Crafts specialised in Painting. He is a Freelance Artist, Visual Activist, Art Educator, Independent writer and Curator. Veejayant was one among the five artists globally to participate in the Symposium "Environment, Justice, Inequity,", Visual Activism Symposium by San Francisco MOMA (Museum of Modern Art), USA in 2014.

 

Curatorial Projects: Jan, 2018 ­conceptualised and curated 0674, hello Bhubaneswar Chapter 1, an unique Art Exposition which celebrated Bhubaneswar, the city in its varied forms and features, Feb 2018 -he visualised Swachhagrah: Bapu ko Karyanjali, on the ghats of Benaras organised by NGMA, New Delhi, NCZCC, Allahabad, Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India in association with BHU, Varanasi, 2016­he conceptualised and curated -Visual Narrative of Odishan History, a mural painting workshop at KIIT University, 2013 he curated a national group exhibition of contemporary art “BLUe”.

Veejayant has Conceptualized 3 numbers of Picture Books for kids, which was published by One Drop, Canada, Worked as Set, Costume & Graphic Designer and Visiting Faculty for Mukti, a contemporary theatre group from April 1999 and still continuing. Worked as a Space/Atmospheric Designer for Anjali, National Festival for Children with Disability at Bhubaneswar in the years 2010, 2011 & 2012. Worked as an Art Director, Research Fellow & Associate Director for many Odia Television Serials from 2001 to 2004. Presently he is the Creative Consultant of Sashakt -campaign for rights of persons with disability, inclusion and empowerment, 2018 organised by Odisha State Disability Network, Anjali Children’s Festival, Swabhiman and also working as the Art and Costume Designer for an Odia Movie (in shooting stage).
